The BizFed Student Leadership Lab is an after-school cohort experience that puts students at the center of real policy, real business, and real community change. Every session combines advocacy training with entrepreneurship so students learn to lead and build at the same time, on their campus and beyond.
Most leadership programs tell students what to think. The BizFed Student Leadership Lab teaches them how to move. Students go inside the systems that shape their neighborhoods: business, government, policy, and economics. They learn the tools advocates actually use.
Every session pairs civic education with entrepreneurship so that by the time the cohort ends, students have both a voice and a venture. This is the student version of the BizFed Advocacy Academy, the same program that trains business leaders to influence public policy, now reimagined for the next generation.
90 min per session
25–30 per cohort
Weekly, on campus
100% free to students
Every session runs after school, 3:30 to 5:00 PM on your campus. Each 90-minute session follows the same rhythm: learn it, do it, reflect on it, then take it further.
The Student Leadership Lab is not just a civics program. Every student also learns to think like a builder. From day one, students develop a business concept alongside their advocacy work because the most effective leaders know how to create change and create value.

A real business concept developed from ideation to pitch.

Mastering the economics of community building and wealth.

Direct access to LA's most influential business stakeholders.

A real business concept developed from ideation to pitch.
Powered by the Youthful Savings Learning Marketplace, the business curriculum is built into the cohort experience from start to finish. Students pitch their ventures at the Culmination event in front of real mentors, business leaders, and community stakeholders.

We’re piloting the BizFed Student Leadership Lab in the 2026 to 2027 school year with a select group of Los Angeles schools. Launching with secondary campuses and expanding to K-12. If you’re a school leader, district administrator, or funder interested in bringing this program to your campus, we’d love to connect.
This is a funded partnership. Students participate at no cost. Schools and funders support program delivery.
If you’ve seen this program or want updates, leave your info. We’ll reach out when it launches near you. No commitment, just your spot on the list.
